The Cultural Safari

A Tanzania Culture addition will compliment your safari and complete your experience of Africa. All Tanzania Culture Safaris are organized with gentleness and respect for the cultures, villagers and homes we visit. Our hope is for you to meet the diverse cultures first hand and to experience what makes Tanzania so special.

For Tanzania Culture Safaris or Cultural Additions to safaris please contact us direct. All cultural safaris are organized on a one off basis. Each safari is organized direct with the communities you will be visiting. Each cultural exchange also takes into account what you may or may not want to see/experience. Some Examples are visits to hospitals, schools, village and home visits. We work directly with the communities with our Initiative Programs and will ensure that all visits are done with gentleness and respect for the visitors and the communities and families/organizations being visited.

Pangani Bay, Usambara Mountains, Marangu Kilimanjaro, Elephant Camp West Kilimanjaro, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater

Each of the following destinations has cultural programs to be organized by each lodge Lodge
Day 1 to 3

This first day is quite a long drive to the coast but well worth the effort. Not many tourists get to see this part of Tanzania - Pangani is an undiscovered paradise and was once a home of Arab merchants and slave traders, it is now a sleepy backwater on the coconut-tree fringed estuary of the Pangani River . Enjoy your time here relaxing on the white sands and in the warm crystal ocean around Pangani Bay .

Day 4 & 5

Accommodation here is farm house style accommodation in the heart of these very African Mountains. The Usambara Mountains is home to the African violet the world’s favorite flower. In these mountains, you will experience the quiet gentle pace of life distinct to this area of Africa.

Day 6 & 7
Day six take a short jump from the Usambara Mountains to the worlds highest free standing Mountain Marangu is located on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro set amongst banana and coffee trees. Whilst in Marangu you can take one of many cultural tours or just take your time to walk around and get to know folk in the bustling market. It is possible to spend the day walking in Kilimanjaro National Park.
Day 8 to 9
West Kilimanjaro : Sinya Camp: This is one of the few places in Tanzania that you will be able to experience night drives and walking safaris – escorted by Maasai warriors. This private concession borders on Kenya ’s Amboseli Park and offers game viewing and spectacular views of the snow covered peaks Kilimanjaro and also Mt Meru, Ol Orok and Longido peaks. Sinya probably has the biggest bull elephants in the whole of Africa . Cultural tourism is emphasized at this camp and participation in traditional ceremonies will help make this safari a most unforgettable experience.
Day 10

Tarangire National Park . The park is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of Tarangire River . Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland and oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rains when they migrate again. This park is famed for its huge Elephant herds and its proliferation of giant baobab trees.

Day 11

Ngorongoro Crater An early morning descend into the crater for a full day tour. Ngorongoro crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world. The crater is 610 meters deep and 260 km squared and is a microcosm of scenery and game. Magnificent scenery and stunning views are the features of this great wonder of the natural world.
